November 19, 2008 by effanga, Website "Scienceray.com" Publication: The European Bison

The European bison (Bison Bonasus), sometimes known as the wisent, originally inhabited most of the European continent in great numbers. In the 16th century, polish kings took steps to protect the species. At the beginning of the 21st century, there were an estimated 2900 European bison globally. But this does not mean that the European Bison is out of danger. For these reasons, the european bison is still on the red list, which catalogs endangered plants andanimals worldwide. Man's determination to preserve this species has helped it to survive to our time. Dr. Krasinski remind us however that 'the fate of the European bison provides an example of how a species could be brought to the brink of extinction in a very short time and then save by great efforts. ... November 17, 2008 Olga Sitnikova, Web-magazine "ShkolaZhizni.ru" Publication: It is revived to balance between life and death? It's about the European bison

Bison, a symbol of the country, is listed in the Red Data Book as an endangered species and is under strong governmental care as not touch a hair of its head. When something extraordinary happens, surprised Belarusians say a phrase "You don't say so! In Belovezhskaya Pushcha, probably, a bison has died …". The untimely death of the rare European bison is surprising for the Belarusian as much as could be compared with inadequate behaviour of a crawfish which whistles on a Russian mountain. The situation concerning this species in Belarus is rather stable - bison subpopulations in the national parks are growing in the number last years. However, all is not as cheerfully as it seems at first sight. Why? ... Read more in Russian or use a special (web)software to translate the text here.

Its full-dress rehearsal was carried out this summer when the National Park's guard has removed the scientist Heorhi Kazulka from the hall where together with public representatives the discussion of the National Park's draft management plan was going. October 10, 2008 Website "Medved.com" Publication: The abstract "Evstakhiy Tyshkevich, an archaeologist and an explorer of local lore"

He is a patron of culture, an explorer of local lore and a researcher, and an ancestor of the Belarusian archaeology àðõåîëîãèè. Sacral findings: ancient skulls and bones encircle with funeral glass beads, utensils and coins. Sacred objects and places of ritual interments. Glory of the museum in Vilno. I will put photos showing autumn images of Belovezhskaya Pushcha late (one gallery oak trees in the autumn is only accessible now).
Here are 4 photos of a maple tree with the "gold" autumn foliage which are growing in the area of the secondary school in the village of Kamenyuki, the administrative center of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha".
