September 27, 2012 Website "The State Nature Protection Establishment "The National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha"" To be caught when illegal hunting and fishing

On September 11, 2012, the employees of the operative game warden team when implementing security measures in the Forest and Game Ground "Vygonovskoe" detained a temporarily unemployed resident of the village of Telehany. He was fishing without permits on Bobrovichskoe Lake where pay recreational fishing is lawful. The administrative report was made in regard to the offender and fishing gears were confiscated. The case file was addressed to the court of the Ivatsevichi district.

On September 11 of 2012, a temporarily unemployed resident of the village of Khodosy was detained at night in the buffer zone of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" near the village of Dmitrovichi, Kamenets district, when poaching. A hunting rifle and ammunition were confiscated. The case file was addressed to the court of the Kamenets district.

Due to the fact that the cases of violation of nature protection rules for gathering mushrooms and berries are more often, the administration of the National Park draws attention that the rules established for the various functional zones in accordance with the "Regulations on the National Park" approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus, No 59 dated 02.09.2012., must be observed during a visit to Belovezhskaya Pushcha.

On September 14, 2012,the professional holiday of the Day of Forestry was held in Belovezhskaya Pushcha in the royal meadow.

The welcoming speech was given by Alexandr Bury, Director General of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha". He made special mention about those whose work is related to the forestry. Guests of the festival - Head of the Department of Natural Systems and Agriculture I.Kachanovsky, representatives of Svisloch and Kamenetz executive committees, labor veterans and representatives of institutions that are closely working with the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" - also joined to congratulate employees of the National Park.

Congratulations and celebration was served by the Orchestra of Border Troops of the Republic of Belarus. After the official part of the holiday, a festive concert by the State Folk Ensemble "Feast" was given.

During the holiday, one can see "City of Masters" and "Coaching Inn" - a kind of small exhibitions representing the divisions of the National Park.

However, the show of fellers was the "highlight" and the most spectacular moment of the holiday. Friends and colleagues of the show participants welcomed their mastery with applause.

A prize lottery, shops, sporting events and other activities were organized.

On September 12 and 13, 2012, a forum of journalists was held in the conference hall of the Museum of Nature of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha". The program of cross-border cooperation "Poland-Belarus-Ukraine. 2007 to 2013", the main purpose of which is to support the process of cross-border cooperation between border areas of Poland, Belarus and Ukraine, covers the Brest, Grodno, Minsk and Gomel regions of the Republic of Belarus. Media representatives were invited to report about this program and popularize it among the local population. After the formal meeting, journalists visited the Museum of Nature, the Estate of Belarusian Father Frost and zoo enclosures, and traveled with an excursion to the forest.

Director of the State Environmental Establishment "The National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" Alexandr V. Bury is nominated a candidate in the District Council of Deputies. Its vital principle is to help doing business, not a word.

Alexandr Bury was born in the village of Gorenichi, Minsk region. After high school he worked as a worker at the state farm "Berezinsky". From there, he was called up for the army. In 1984, he became a student of the State Technological University in the Faculty of Forestry. His choice was not accidental as his childhood was connected with the forest. His grandfather and uncle worked there. The future career passed to him by inheritance. After graduation of the University, he worked as a foreman in the Kletsk forest enterprise during two years, then first as a forester of the Novinkovskoe forest area, then of the Nesvizhkoe forest area. From 2002 to 2005,he is Chief Forester of the Kletsk forest enterprise. After that, he was appointed director of the State Forestry Enterprise "Krasnoselskoe". Since April 2011, he became Director General of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha".

The offer to work in Pushcha was unexpected for Alexander Bury. The enterprise is versatile and requires responsible work. He is trying to justify their confidence. He notes that the most important thing in any job is do not be afraid to think how to do it in the right way. All aspects of the life of Belovezhskaya Pushcha are under his leadership. Environmental activities are the first. The scientific department is been monitoring forests and provides conclusions on how one should behave in nature, what actions he should not do.

Teamwork depends on mutual understanding and respect in the family. Alexander Bury is married to wife for 26 years. They raised two children. The daughter works in "Belarusbank". The son chose the path of his father and he is now a 4th year student of the Belarusian State Technological University, in the Faculty of Forestry.

Alexander Bury is running to be a deputy for the first time. I asked how the campaign goes and received an unexpected response:

"My practical activity makes my agitation. Every person, whether he is a deputy, head or a simple worker, must strive to ensure that the people in surroundings feel comfortable. It all depends on us. How do we want to live, and we will. I will not change my line of life I never refuse people to help if I can, and will not deny. They are free of choice. I am a candidate in District Council nominated by Kamenyuki constituency number 19. I am responsible for me words and deeds.
September 12, 2012 Website " Euro-Regions of Belarus" A bicycle route for hundreds of thousands of Euros

Almost 305,000 Euros have been allocated for the implementation of the international technical assistance "Bicycle Route Following Traces of Pribuzhskoye Secrets". The project is financed from the funds of the Program of cross-border cooperation "Poland - Belarus - Ukraine 2007to 2013". The European Union is a founder and donor. The John Paul II's Higher State School in Biala Podlaska (Poland) is the lead partner. The Belarusian side runs the project by staff of the A.Pushkin's Brest State University.

By the way, the financing for the Belarusian part of the project is more than 97,000 Euros. As the result, the bicycle route of the length of more than 250 km in Bialsk district, Lublin province (Poland), and in Brest and Kamenets districts, Brest region (Belarus), will be developed and designed on the terrain. Places for parking and informational stand in the most important tourist sites will appear on the route. Schematic map of the region will be drawn and guidebooks will be published.

This bicycle route will connect and extend the already established routes within Belovezhskaya Pushcha and Transboundary Biosphere Reserve "West Polesie". According to Alexander Panko, the project coordinator of the Belarusian side and Assistant Professor of Social and Economic Geography and Tourism department of the Brest University, the result is in appearing a significant opportunity for creation of new tourist facilities (agro-farms, private museums, food services, etc.). The work should be completed by January 31, 2014, but willing people may already visit the website of the designers.

Since September 1, deer animals during the rut are accounted in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The number of red deer, roe deer and European elk are set visually and at the hearing (roaring males). All chasseur service of the National Park is involved in this difficult work. The surveys are conducted from 5.00 up to 8.00 in the morning and from 19.00 to 23.00 in the evening.

On August 31, the seminar "Conservation and Use of Bison in Belarus" was held in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The event was organized by the Presidential Office of Affairs and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Protection.

Keynote presentations about how to improve the legal framework for protection and management of bison, to develop criteria for selection and breeding work on the basis of assessment of the genetic diversity of animals by using DNA-markers, to manage problems of bison micro-populations and prospects of their settlement in the Republic of Belarus, and to establish in the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" the National Scientific and Breeding Center for Study, Conservation and Sustainable Use of Bison were made at the meeting.

The National Park shared practical experience in organizing of biotechnological process and animals' identification, and in screening of biological samples for research purposes.

During the seminar, the international experience on the issues with participation of Polish and Russian colleges were also discussed.

The resolution noted the important contribution of the Republic of Belarus to the problem of conservation and reproducing the Bialowieza bison population of more than 1000 individuals (the second highest in the world). It was proposed for the Scientific and Practical Center for Bioresources to strengthen the coordination work with the Severtsov's Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences that to promote the project "Development of the concept of conservation and creating the optimal areal of European bison in Russia and Belarus and recommendations for future management of its population", which is scheduled for implementation in the framework of the Union State.

The operational game warden group of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" arrested two residents of the village Shereshevo within the Park's territory near the village of Glubokiy Kut, who illegally fished using prohibited fishing gear "wings" made from the net material. The damage caused to the environment made 840,000 Br (~$ 100). The Pruzhany district's court subjected perpetrators to administrative penalty of a fine of 10 basic units (~ 1,000,000 Br for each) and confiscation of fish and gear.

A resident of the village of Chemeri-2 who fished using prohibited fishing gear made from net material was arrested on the River of Forest Left for the similar violation of the environmental legislation. An administrative report under Art. 15.35 Part 1 of the Administrative Code was made and brought to the Kamenets district's court.
