June 21, 2002 «Respublika» (The Republic) Newspaper, #135 Yeltsin goes to Viskuly

As it was mentioned Boris Yeltsin the first Russian Federation president was invited to Belarus by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Mr. Yeltsin came today and tomorrow the honored guest will be met by citizens of Brest. It should be noticed that Yeltsin pays the second visit to the city over Bug river. He was here in June, 22 in 1996 when the Russian President together with Aleksandr Lukashenko participated in the meeting in the «Brest fortress-hero» devoted to the Memorial Day.

What concerns citizens of Brest they guess if only desire to «see more» brought Mr. Yeltsin to them. It may be that the Russian President is lead by memories about west borders of the USSR and Viskuly…

Following unsupported information the Belovezhskaya Pushcha is waiting for Mr. Yeltsin with a tennis court which was build especially for the first visit of the First President to Brest area.
