About Kerimov and incoming tourism ...

"I was in convincing from all staff of the Ministry of Culture Ц to revive and renovate castles and palaces; that's big money to invest there, and then tourists will go. In fact, do not go. But they are happy to go in a simple and convenient agro-farm. They go with their families, because Moscow citizens are rich. They consistently agree to spend the whole summer season and pay a lot of money. They have a rest with their families there. So let's invest! This wealth we have is enough!

This year we will finish a ring road around Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Please! Welcome. There are today villages of those who born near. Rich people take and restore them. They are from Russia and Israel, from other countries of the world. (...)

Mr. Kerimov, an owner of the potash market in Russia, recently came to me. He is a richest man. He told me in reproach - you promised me to give the place to build a house near Belovezhskaya Pushcha, near a certain road. For God's sake Ц take even two, at least three! (...) Put in order. We have such cases. People already know that is best to come there, to Belarus, and to build there!

"I fly by helicopter - the soul rejoices"

I often dream about. I basically fly by helicopter around the country because when you go by car Ц some streets are blocked and people are unhappy. And it is cheaper for this case. I love nature, I love people, I love every living things. I never went to hunt. I know that there is a need to shoot animals, as the excessive number of bison is even in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, and if do not catch them, they would destroy the Forest. I understand this but I cannot even look at the killed animal. I am flying by helicopter. Huge woodland is visible from top, all is smoothly, it is sown, and there are no bald land patches and holes anywhere, all is neatly. Soul rejoices. I am pleased when, wherever you I look, all is smoothly, beautifully planted and the yields are good. That's my dream that the country is to be beautiful.

From information by
April 04, 2011 "Zarya" (The Dawn) newspaper A bypass road along Belovezhskaya Pushcha will increase by 16.5 km

The route of a highway around Belovezhskaya Pushcha which construction is now in progress has been adjusted. The new start is from the border crossing "Peschatka".

Initially, the new road has been built (and continues to be built) from the village of Volkostavets, Kamenetz district, and further around the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" with the end point in the village of Svisloch, Grodno region.

The total length of the bypass has been planned 185 km. According to the Presidential Decree number 76 dated February 28, 2011, the bypass section in the Brest region has been extended to the border crossing "Peschatka", that is in the Kamenetz district. Thus, the line lengthened to 16.5 km.

Motivation of the adjustment is quite logical. The task is to link the new road to the existing customs and border crossing point, thus ensuring the possibly shortest and convenient access for tourists from abroad visiting the unique natural area.

Like the main part of the road, the added section will provide a modern highway with the width of the road bed of 10- and 9-meter.

It is planned to put about 15 culverts for surface water and drainage canals. New bridge crossings are not provided.

Additional funding of the road construction for the extension area will be 45 billion rubles (~$ 14.5 million). The total cost of the bypass road construction is 331 billion rubles (~$ 110 million).

The new section will run across three rural areas of the Kamenetz district, bypassing the villages of Peschatka, Hlevische, Dolbizno, Bushmichi, Podbure and others.
