To replace a museum by a restaurant
On Sunday, on March 15, the Museum of Nature of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" served the tourists for the last time. One of the most popular objects of the Reserve temporary closes its exposition for the visitors that to open it already in a new building in September.
It is supposed to construct the new administrative office-building of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" with a museum and a conference hall to this time. The old building of the museum will be reconstructed into the additional rooms of a restaurant, while the museum exposition temporary "moves" to other premise. The Park's experts assert that all conditions for the unique exhibits are created in the temporary depository. And the visitors of Belovezhskaya Pushcha should however reconcile with the fact that they cannot visit the Museum.

One of the most famous nationals parks – the National Park Belovezhskaya Pushcha - to turn 600 soon
The preparation works for the festivities will be complete in September, when a new environment-educational center and a museum of nature will be opened in the park. One of the basic sights of the park – the Belarusian Grandfather Frost's residence, as well as zoo enclosures, roads and inhabited localities in the area of Belovezhskaya Pushcha will be upgraded, improved and serviced.

Belovezhskaya Puscha to mark its 600th anniversary on September 19-20
The Belovezhskaya Puscha National Park will mark the 600th anniversary of its reserve status on September 19-20. The preparations for the anniversary event are in full swing in the national park.
New projects to be implemented in the park are supervised by the Property Management Directorate of the President of the Republic of Belarus. The Brest and Grodno oblast executive committees, several ministries and agencies are involved in the work as well.
At an onsite session of the national organizing committee handling the preparations for the anniversary, its chairman, President’s Chief of Staff Nikolai Domashkevich said that last year around Br26 billion (~ $ 9.2 millions) was invested in the facilities of the Belovezhskaya Puscha National Park.
Brest construction company No. 6 is now constructing a unique site – the House of Ecological Education and a museum. The construction is financed by the Property Management Directorate of the President. Last year Br3.3 billion (~ $ 1.2 million) was utilised for these purposes.
Four tourist eco-friendly routes have been prepared to mark the jubilee of the park. Among them is a 16-kilometre cycle tour ‘An Animal Passage’, a 10-kilometre ‘Karskaya Meadow’, a 19-kilometre’ Forest Paths’ and a two-kilometre ‘Reserved Oak Wood’.
One of the tourist routes in Belovezhskaya Puscha leads through the well-known town of Zhirovichi with its famous monastery.
A lot has been done to beatify the central estate of the Belovezhskaya Puscha National Park – the village of Kameniuki. A major upgrading of treatment facilities and reconstruction of the bridge over the river Lesnaya are underway. Fifteen new cottages for specialists will be built here, a local school, dispensaries and buildings will be overhauled.
Great changes will take place in the agricultural industry of the national park as well. For instance, an up-to-date milking equipment will be installed at the cattle breeding farm of the agricultural company Tikhovol.
Belovezhskaya Puscha is one of the oldest nature reserves in the world. In 1992, Belovezhskaya Puscha was included into the UNESCO Heritage List. In 1993, it acquired the status of a biosphere reserve, in 1998 – the status of the key international ornithological area. The length of the park makes up over 60 kilometres from north to south and ten to 50 kilometres long from west to east. The area totals 163,505 hectares, 20% of which is a reserve where any human activity is prohibited.

Photo-report: To see off Snegurochka in Belovezhskaya Pushcha
The national holiday "Shrove-tide" to see off the winter has been held in the residence of Grandfather Frost in the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" on February 28.
By the long-term popular tradition, numerous visitors from all corners of our country, and from neighbour Russia and Poland have come there this day. The action was developed on eight platforms with every originally designed in a certain style. The main thing common for all was that magician Grandfather Frost with his inseparable granddaughter-companion Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) had time to visit every site. The holiday has finished with the solemn ceremony to see off Snegurochka. The idea of the authors of the project "Belarusian Grandfather Frost Manor" that Granddaughter is together with her Grandfather Frost only in winter. Since spring worming she leaves its residence in Belovezhskaya Pushcha and sets out on the North Pole. Grandfather Frost lives in Pushcha all the year round changing his winter garb to easy frock coat and summer boots since becoming heat.
